About

Greville was born on January the 6th 1983 and he has been drawing ever since. He specializes in illustration and portraiture in a wide range of mediums including paint, ink, pastel, charcoal, wood and digital. He excelled at art from a young age and due to his grandmother’s influence was able to study under Arnold Machin RA when he was 11. He attended both Shrewsbury School (Shropshire, UK) and Adam’s Grammar School (Shropshire, UK) for GCSEs and A-Levels respectively and gained top grades in Art at both institutions. He continued his higher education at Stafford College (Staffordshire, UK) before attending the University of Brighton (UK) where he studied for his BFA in Sculpture.
Having a Spanish father an English mother and living in Bahrain at a young age meant that Greville spent his formative years being exposed to a wide range of culture and art, and the variety of ways in which humanity portrayed itself. This influence in early life has expressed itself later as he primarily enjoys figurative art and the way humans interact and influence their surroundings through their presence. This fascination with the human form in it’s many types, it’s structure and biology has lead to a lifelong obsession with it’s representation. Through a variety of techniques – honed from years of practice – Greville has learned to create dramatic and emotional artwork which captures the essence of his subjects.
